BIN LADEN

A bindle, a bed
ad-libbed in a bladed lane.
In a linden dale
in a nabbed land denied bail,
a leaden bell addled
and in need. All in all,
a dead label
and a Bible-enabled ballad
and a blind din
and a bane.
A laden bin.

This poem won third prize in the 2011 War Poetry Contest sponsored by Winning Writers. Author Michael Estes received a $600 award. Copyright is reserved to the author.
