Is there any age restriction?
No - open to all ages.

Is there any country restriction?
No - open to contestants from any nation.

What is the best way to enter from outside the United States?
We suggest you submit online and pay the fee with a credit card.

Are my poems judged anonymously?
Yes.

Are my poems judged separately from one another (if I enter more than one)?
Yes.

Can a contestant win more than one prize in a year?
No.

Is the reading fee $15 per poem?
No - your fee of $15 covers up to 3 poems.

May I enter more than 3 poems if I enclose an additional reading fee?
No - 3 poems is the maximum per contestant.

Is there a limit to the overall size of my entry?
Yes - your combined poems should not exceed 500 lines in all.

May I submit via email?
We prefer you to submit online with a credit card or submit by mail. However, if you pay your fee via PayPal, then you may email your submission to us (see our PayPal instructions).

May I include illustrations or photos with my entry?
No.

May I submit work that has two or more authors?
Maybe - please email Adam Cohen at adam@winningwriters.com for advice.

May I submit a poem by someone who has died?
No. The authors of all submissions must be living. For places that might publish posthumous work, please see our Poetry of War resources.

May I submit my poem simultaneously to you and to other contests and publishers?
Yes, and please notify us if it is accepted elsewhere.

May I submit a poem that has been translated from another language?
Yes, if you wrote the original poem.

Will you return my entry after the contest?
No - please keep a copy of your work.

By entering, am I making any ongoing commitment to buy anything?
No - your entry fee is a one-time charge.

Will I keep the copyright to my work?
Yes. You keep the copyright to your submission. If you achieve finalist status or better, Winning Writers only requests permission to publish your work on WinningWriters.com, in our email publications, and in our press releases. Any other use would be negotiated with you.

Does Winning Writers sponsor any other contests?
Yes - our no-fee Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest.

Do you rent any contestant information to third parties?
No. See our privacy policy.
