Honorable Mention - Brian L. Perkins

BLACK MARKET HUMAN ORGANS

oh steven!
oh ray ray!
give back my spleen!
why steven?
why ray ray?
could you be so mean?
you are thugs who steal organs from good folks like me.
you are thugs and as thugs act thuggishly.
but the Lord is "looking"...
and watching you sin,
and when there's a party in heaven He won't let you in.

Sent as a joke to Famous Poets Society, this poem received an honorable mention in the 2003 Wergle Flomp parody poetry contest sponsored by Winning Writers.

About Brian Perkins
Brian Perkins is 29, devilishly handsome, and a founding member of both the San Francisco comedy group Killing My Lobster and the hi/lo film festival. More recently he has directed several short films and music videos for the band OK Go, has many other projects in varying states of completion, and has recently begun teaching himself how to speak Spanish, play piano, and surf. "Black Market Human Organs" was written and submitted last year when he was researching his forthcoming screenplay, "Dear Silver Poet," which concerns death row inmates and poetry scams. The poem is one of many which he wrote during that time, one of which is terribly offensive.
