WORDY HARRY

Now I know
what you're thinking:
did he use six iambs or only five.
To tell the truth
in all the excitement
I've lost track of the scansion myself.
But being that this is a sonnet—
the most powerful
poem form in the world—
it could take Emily Dickinson's
head clean off.
Now you've got to ask yourself one question:
Do I feel lucky?
Well, do you, poet?

This poem was a finalist in the 2010 Wergle Flomp humor poetry contest sponsored by Winning Writers.
